Description
The Professor invents a one-way time machine. He, Fry and Bender go forward to 10,000 AD accidentally, and keep traveling forward in time until a backwards time machine has been invented.

It was a cool premise, but they didn't get back! The original Leela, and a second Leela, are both DEAD! Along with the crews and characters that go with them! How stupid is THAT? What a DUMB episode! So basically from now on, it's a different Leela and a different Planet Express Crew? LAME!

They're the same crew only in a similar universe that is a couple of feet lower than the previous. All the past events happened in the new universe only they were repeated.

this episode is kind of weird in the sense that they weren't crushed before stepping into the time machine and no new fry went to meet leela for their date so the only way this episode makes any sense is if there Universe or existence type thing was the first original one.

Well you see the universe doesn't have to be the first universe, it goes in a pattern. 2 versions of themselves go through the time machine and 2 future versions get crushed. So they just had to be in the proper cycle where they go forward in time and crush the future versions of themselves, and not be the crushed version of themselves. (I know it may not make much sense but it does)

Has anyone notice that most of the new episodes have the characters almost destroy them selfs this one is traveling through time the kats one they slow earth down and the Mighty V-giny. Wow i bet they will kill futurama some way in later episodes or seasons.

It's a reference to Planet of the Apes, where the protagonist goes into the future to find that the apes are in control and in the last scene he sees the statue of liberty and realises that the humans blew themselves up.

did you notice as they were travelling through time, they viewed civilizations being rebuilt and then destroyed by aliens. if you remember correctly,when fry first became frozen in the first episode, the window depicted the same thing. props for the consistency.
